Job Description
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Engineering
- 10 years of Plastic Injection Molding experience – troubleshooting molds, presses, and developing robotic load/unload experience
- Familiar with instrument panel/other interior trim manufacturing system tools, processes, etc.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work an off shift (2nd)
- Familiar with APQP and PPAP process/deliverables
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Coordinate plastic manufacturing engineering activity in the injection mold area
- Develop and maintain plastic process / set up records /database
- Support new product launch activities to include mold set up and material trials
- Develop and support the construction of robotic end effectors
- Develop / program robotic load and unload of components / parts
- Execute manufacturing plan when tools are turned over to plant – to include process cycle time and quality levels meeting or exceeding business metrics
- Support in the coordination of equipment & tooling launch, system tryouts, ramp-up plan, PPAP submission coordination, run-at-rate, etc.
- Support Molding CIT - develop and track action plans follow-up, and communicate CIT project status to management
- Support lead maintenance troubleshooting / repair / upgrade activity - to include understanding and application of electrical and hydraulic prints
- Participate in and aggressively pursue cost savings ideas and work to implement them
