Do you love the show “How It’s Made”?  Automation Interns for Process Engineering get to work with world-class clients in the food, consumer goods, beverage and/or factory automation industries.  If you enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, Haskell is the place for you!

 

In this internship, you will participate in training programs and receive training in company management tools, standards, policies & procedures, during the assignment. Additionally, there are fantastic opportunities to network with interns across the enterprise during scheduled workshops, events and group projects focused on our culture and values.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with control system functional descriptions and specifications
  • Prepare and maintain databases for vendors and subcontractors
  • Learn startup and commissioning of Process and Controls projects
  • Learn how to troubleshoot electrical control systems, including controllers and IO, instrumentation and computer systems
  • Learn to design and implement PLC and HMI/SCADA control systems
  • Assist with review of project submittals to ensure compliance with project expectations

Education/Experience:

  • Pursuing a degree in Automation, Electrical or similar engineering (Mechatronics)

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:

  • Excellent computer skills, including 2D and 3D CAD
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics, fluid flow, pneumatics and electric circuits - understanding of PLCs and HMIs is very helpful
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to adjust to changing timelines while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal team skills

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
