Process Automation Engineer – Entry Level

Location: St. Louis, MO (Chesterfield, MO)

What does the Experitec Process Automation Engineer role look like?

The Process Automation Engineer position provides an opportunity for entry-level engineers who want to learn more about the automation solutions industry. This engineer would get the opportunity to rotate throughout the engineering services organization, working with different engineering teams on providing service to various customers. You will get to design, support and implement projects for some of the most innovative manufacturing companies in the world.  This position will allow entry-level engineers to develop technical skills in Automation Engineering through a series of dynamic training and development activities made up of a combination of e-learning, in-person courses and hands-on experiences in the office and at customer sites. The Process Automation Engineer will participate in customer site activities, including control system commissioning and startup, cybersecurity improvements and system modernization.  

What is the Process Automation Engineer responsible for?

In this role, you will be responsible for providing engineering and design services to our customers required to maximize the value of their process control systems. Some examples of your day-to-day activities could include process control design, automation system configuration, project execution, instrument specification and selection, and construction support. The primary goal of your role would be to deliver quality solutions and services to customers using the technologies provided by DeltaV, DeltaV SIS, Asset Management Systems (AMS) and other Emerson solutions.

Who can do this job?  

A qualified candidate will have the following attributes/qualifications/skills:

  • Associates degree or B.S. degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Electronics, Industrial Technology, or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Critical and analytical thinking.
  • Sound problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork.
