PURPOSE:
Respiratory Therapists (RRT/RCP/CRTT) with specialized training in clinical respiratory services are the MasVida Health Care Solutions (MasVida) clinical respiratory specialists. Each demonstrates the knowledge and ability to properly teach and evaluate all aspects of clinical respiratory services.
MasVida clinical respiratory specialists will maintain professional relationships with patient healthcare teams to ensure proper care and follow-up of the patient’s needs. The specialist understands the physician’s role, and the indications that require contact with the healthcare team or physician. Clinical respiratory services are provided only by specialists under the direction of a physician order and in accordance with MasVida policies.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- MasVida respiratory specialists will primarily educate and train, concerning the equipment provided, and offer professional recommendations or consultation to the patient healthcare team regarding the clinical respiratory services of a patient’s plan of treatment.
- Participate in educational and professional programs and/or review professional literature on an ongoing basis to maintain knowledge and competency in current and developing techniques, professional standards, and the DME products and services offered by MasVida.
- Prescription Review including: 1) Collaborate with healthcare professionals to gather additional information and clarify prescription details when necessary. 2)Thoroughly review and interpret medical prescriptions related to respiratory equipment needs. 3) Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and medical guidelines while recommending appropriate respiratory equipment.
- Equipment Training and In-Services including: 1) Provide comprehensive training materials and conduct in-services for healthcare professionals, caregivers, and patients on the safe and effective use of respiratory equipment. 2) Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure proper handling, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the equipment. 3) Educate fellow MasVida employees on the features and benefits of respiratory equipment as well as applicable safety factors as requested.
- Equipment Expertise: 1) Stay up to date with advancements in respiratory therapy and medical equipment technologies to offer the latest solutions and best practices. 2) Be the go-to resource for internal teams regarding technical inquiries, equipment specifications, and troubleshooting.
- Quality Assurance: 1) Maintain quality control measures for all respiratory equipment to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards. 2) Regularly conduct equipment audits and inspections to identify and address any issues promptly.
- Clinical respiratory specialist services will provide in accordance with specific written physician orders and plan of treatment. On site patient visits will be required.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and train healthcare professionals and patients.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage both the advisory role and DME rental operations efficiently.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- CRTT, RRT, with state license if required, or licensed nurse with equivalent experience.
- The ability to meet National Board for Respiratory Therapy (NBRT) registry responsibilities required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with expertise in ventilators, BiPAPs, CPAPs, Oxygen cylinders, and Concentrators.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
