PRN Medical Transporter (bilingual spanish)

Prism Health Lab is looking to employ a PRN Medical transporter assistant for inventory management mobile testing and vaccine clinics. We seek a highly motivated individual and a team player willing to be flexible, organized, and compassionate. This role will include medical assistant duties such as vaccine storage and handling, preparing vaccines, performing anterior nasal and saliva-based testing, inventory tracking, and management; distance driving may sometimes be required. Heavy lifting is required for this role. You will be the primary person to oversee testing events and training. You will assist with procedures and ensure accuracy amongst yourself and new employees. You will work with a team of experienced clinicians, registered nurses, medical assistants, and IT personnel.

Experience in geriatric care/pediatrics preferred. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause while developing formative experience in healthcare while working based on your daily activities and schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES: COVID testing and vaccine preparation

- Inventory Management, including receiving and obtaining supplies from our headquarters in Chicago
- Assist patients by providing them with information, services, and assistance.

- Verify patient information by interviewing patients, confirming their consent, and performing testing
- Maintain PPE Compliance.
- Set up and take down the vaccination/testing site.
- Maintain the medical supplies inventory and perform preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating.
- Secure patient information by completing and safeguarding medical records by following and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures.
- Serve and protect the practice by adhering to professional standards, facility policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Enhance practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

- Clinical qualifications accepted: Certified Medical Assistant
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Disease Management / Safety
- Patient-centered and compassionate care-oriented.
- Organized and professional
- Computer proficient

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

Must supply certification or certificate of completion for Medical Assistant
Must supply BLS certificate to date
1+ years in a managment and/or COVID testing preferred
EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
Experience with medical terminology

COVID-19 & HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS:All Prism Health Employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to employment.
All employees must always wear a mask properly.
Recent TB test results are required; the test results should not be older than a month.
