Private School Security Officer

Serva Security is looking to hire energetic and squared-away individuals who have experience with private security services for full-time positions at Private Schools in the South Davidson and Williamson counties.

Job Responsibilities:

• Secure campus and personnel by patrolling campus, including buildings, parking lots, and athletic fields, as well as inspecting buildings and access points.
• Maintain a positive and courteous demeanor, and communicate with others in a professional, and respectful manner.
• Assist with daily carpool and traffic control.
• Accompany personnel and students between buildings and to parking lots upon request.
• When faced with a threat, be capable of choosing the appropriate and legal level of force necessary to preserve life and safety of our clients, including deadly force.
• Formally log all observations, occurrences and surveillance activities in a timely and accurate manner.  Supply daily reports to the supervisor and to other security personnel.
• Politely direct campus guests to appropriate log-in points, and professionally notify unwanted visitors to leave the campus grounds.
• Work shifts: 40 hours per week, will rotate from Monday through Saturday 6:00 -19:30.  Evening campus events will require flexibility as the work shift covers later in the evening.  Occasional shift coverage for other officers and  large events will impact the typical work shift.  Overtime expectancy.

Desired Qualifications: 

• Five years of law enforcement, military, or security experience.
• Executive protection experience.
• Completed mandated Tennessee Active Shooter training.
• CPR and First Aid training.
• You are a hard worker, have a high level of situational awareness, and are ready to respond appropriately to any situation.
• Desire to be a first responder for emergencies by providing security and medical assistance.
• Understands and is able to work professionally in a manner that is consistent with the customer’s culture.
• Ability to lead by example and be a caring individual who values teamwork and customer service.
• Able to work on a Smoke-Free campus.
  

Requirements:

• Possess a current Tennessee Armed Security Guard License.
• Must consistently demonstrate safe firearms handling.
• Must be willing to respond to threats in high-risk situations.
• Must be able to pass the TBI criminal background check required to work in educational facilities with children present.
• Able to comply with the eligibility to work in the United States via a Federal E-Verify check.
  

Physical Expectations:

• Work will be both indoor and outdoor and require long periods of movement and activity.  
• Employment typically requires standing, walking, and working in noisy environments. 
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Safely carries a firearm and other required security items at all times.

Compensation:

$24 per hour
