POSITION TITLE:Privacy Analyst/Legal Assistant
REPORTS TO: VP Deputy General Counsel
LOCATION: onsite in our Park City headquarters office
PAY GRADE: Salary
COMPENSATION RANGE: $65,000 - $75,000
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Backcountry Legal team is putting in place a scalable organization to protect and support the business. We are seeking a Privacy Analyst / Legal Assistant with experience in corporate and/or litigation work including the filing and management of commercial agreements, NDAs, and litigation. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously and be able to drive and take ownership of the role and associated projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide legal and operational support to the Legal team on a variety of matters.
  • Responsible for administrative processes and maintaining the Legal team’s online filing system, Contractworks. Promptly file executed legal documents and “tag” helpful contract information for company use. Notify business partners of upcoming contract renewals or terminations.
  • Review and draft legal agreements and correspondence, including NDAs, sponsorship agreements, termination letters, sweepstakes terms, customer recall communications, vendor agreements, and more.
  • Monitor and manage the Contracts and Legal email inboxes; address or disseminate requests for assistance to the appropriate person(s). Monitor and manage the Legal physical mailbox.
  • Manage content, organization, and posts to the Legal team’s company intranet portal pages.
  • Maintain and compile information for periodic Legal updates.
  • Manage Certificate of Insurance (COI) solicitation, filing, and tracking from existing vendors.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of customer data subject requests (DSR) using the business’ privacy provider, OneTrust. Periodically update the customer-facing privacy webform using OneTrust.
  • Gather monthly estimates from outside counsel firms and report the monthly budget to the Legal and Finance departments.
  • Manage business licensing requirements, including requesting certificates of good standing for company entities, renewing business licenses, filing annual reports, and more.
  • Participate as needed in special department projects.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate and/or paralegal work or transferrable experience.
  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office.
  • CIPP/US Privacy Certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and judgment.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably under tight time frames in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented.
  • Willingness to tackle matters outside your area of expertise.
