Job Summary:
A local non-profit organization is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team. The Prior Authorizations Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating various support services to ensure the business is running efficiently. In this role the Prior Authorizations Coordinator will be responsible for obtaining Prior Authorization approvals for PCA, 245D, and other services from insurance companies. In addition, this position entails performing a variety of administrative duties. The ideal candidate for this role will be an individual who has prior experience working with homecare services programs, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize their time. In addition, you must have high attention to detail, be flexible and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Being a positive team player is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Entering and managing client information in database.
- Submit insurance Prior Authorization requests.
- Assist with client intake and verifying insurance coverage.
- Call insurance/referral sources to obtain the status of Prior authorization requests.
- Assist in tracking and monitoring progress of Prior Authorization requests.
- Seek continuous process improvement to increase success rates and reduce time to success.
- Set up new clients in EMR system.
- Assist billing department in establishing/creating proper reporting to ensure data is accounted for.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience required.
- Experience working with HCBS programs preferred.
- Computer proficiency using Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
Requirements:
- Ability to adhere to Monday through Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM schedule.

Working Hours
Due to the important nature of the projects this position will be supporting, this position is in-person at our office in Hopkins. Working hours are 9am - 5pm; Monday-Friday.
Salary
The salary for this role represents a pay range. Please note that awarded salaries are commensurate with a candidate's experience.
