SUMMARY:
MCAD is seeking a PrintShop Technician. This position is responsible for assisting the PrintShop and Paper Studio Director in providing administrative, technical, training and course support with day-to-day studio operations, by providing general assistance to MCAD students/faculty/staff. The PrintShop Technician must be sensitive to college needs, employee and student goodwill, and overall brand equity of MCAD as an employer and educational institution. .
DETAILS: This is a part time, non-exempt position expected to work 25 hours a week. This position reports to the Printshop and Paper Studio Director and is paid $18.00 hourly.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administrative:
- Assist Director by staffing the studios during open hours and performs daily studio upkeep and maintenance.
- Provides Assistance to the MCAD community regarding proposals, access, and projects.
- Assist with access list, inventory, recordkeeping, deliveries, coordinating projects.
- Assist with check out/tracking of studio tools and equipment.
- Maintain, update, and design new studio documents.
- Collaborate with various departments of the college in relation to printshop support of college initiatives.
- Coordinate account payments and supply orders.
- Provide training of and delegation of tasks to hourly staff.
- Course support:
- Assist with studio preparation for classes on a daily basis by taking note of the needs of the studio per faculty syllabi.
- Assist with specific preparation for classes including maintaining acids, chemicals, grounds, and pulp.
- Assist with test plates and prints for calculating exposure times.
- Assist with studio building projects to support the Print Paper Book curriculum.
- Assist Director and other staff with deep cleaning tasks during the semester breaks.
- Run errands to maintain supplies and equipment.
- Technical:
- Assist the Director and studio users with technical support .
- Assist with demonstrating print, paper, book processes as assigned.
- Assist with communicating proper safety procedures by meeting classes and updating SDS.
- Act as a resource for students during open hours, and assist with questions and troubleshooting.
- Assist with PrintShop/Paper Studio Special Events and workshops.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Represent MCAD’s vision, purpose, and values in day to day work and interactions with MCAD students, staff, faculty, and campus guests, as well as the greater community.
