Printing Press Assistant

Job Description

Responsible for the efficient operation of the press. Performs preventative maintenance and ensures the press is maintained in a clean and organized manner. Responsible for loading stock and complete set up of feeder for an 8-color perfecting press. Expected to Monitor ink levels and ensure paper is guiding correctly.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for loading stock and complete setup of feeder
• Monitor ink levels and ensure paper is guiding correctly

• Responsible for ensuring that the press is maintained in a clean and organized manner
• Ensure that “Wash-up Procedures” are followed before leaving for the day
• Ensure that preventative maintenance is performed properly and accurately.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• Multi-color press experience preferred, but will train
• Basic Industrial Math and Mechanical Reasoning
• Understanding of the application of water-based coating is helpful
• Good problem-solving skills on press
• Good reading comprehension skills to read and understand the job ticket
• Good mechanical aptitude

• Ability to work independently without close supervision

· Must be able to tolerate smelling and breathing in chemical fumes

Pay will be based on experience. We do not offer Health insurance.
