These positions operate on a 12 hour shift, 2, 2, 3, rotation. Night shift earns a shift differential of $2.00/hr. Hours scheduled on the weekend have a differential of $1.50/hr for Saturdays and Sundays in addition to base hourly rate.
$1,500 signing bonus payable at 6- and 12- months of continuous employment.
Summary
The Print Press Operator is primarily responsible to manufacture blown film products and operates a multifunctional extrusion machine to perform various tasks in the transformation of plastic material into flexible packaging. Programming, adjustment and setting of machine parameters and tools are part of everyday life. In addition to adjustments between orders, the operator is responsible for preventive maintenance of the machine and assisting in the trouble shooting process as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· A Press Operator repairs, runs and operates printing presses and is in charge of the entire production of printed materials from start to finish.
· Responsible for loading the press with paper and ink and adds any updates or repairs as needed.
· Ensures that the daily production schedules are followed
· Ensures that all production reports are filled out
· Ensures that finished product is recorded and tagged correctly
· Ensures all finished products is packaged and labeled as per docket specifications
· Notifies the Supervisor of any quality, scheduling conflicts, production shortages, docket discrepancies, or other issues that may affect customer delivery dates
· Performs scheduled quality inspections, ensures that quality standards are maintained at all times
· Assists in the set up of printing presses to ensure optimal quality and efficiencies are met
· Signs off on all orders before starting production using production sign off checklist
· Ensures that safety standards are met and maintained at all times
· Ensures that all company policies and procedures are followed at all times
· Ensures adequate production supplies are available at press side for current orders being run
· Maintains training objectives through the use of the training sign off sheet provided by the Supervisor
· Ensures all production equipment is maintained in a safe and good working order through effective use of Maintenance Work orders
· Use of production reporting system to ensure accuracy of data and labels.
· 5S and housekeeping
· Participate in continuous improvement projects.
· Expand knowledge on extrusion lines (and other equipment) through experience.
· Be able to operate in a team environment through proper communication and assisting each other during all steps of operation.

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· One to three months related experience and/or training.
· Experience working with blown film or extrusion processes are a plus
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
