Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal/Sr. Principal Hardware IPT Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is an on-site position and will be located in Baltimore, Maryland.

Position Overview:

The selected HW IPT Lead will be supporting a program that is targeting a series of captures by modifying the Scalable Surface Digital Radar product line to exploit both X and S-Band frequency domains. As part of the broader Scalable Surface Digital Radar team, the Argus HW IPT lead would focus on leveraging the product line to rapidly deploy new and existing functionality into a series of captures. This position would provide technical planning for the program office while coordinating day-to-day technical activities with a team working under their guidance.

What You’ll get to Do:

  • Technical planning, asset utilization management, test preparations, lab planning
  • Prioritization and scheduling
  • HW milestone management for a series of system I&T activities
  • Coordination with broader Product Line HW team
  • Customer demonstrations, tours, and presentations

This is a leadership role, requiring a high level of organizational skill, professionalism, and ability to work across NG sectors to accomplish goals on a tight schedule.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications (BQ’s):

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Engineer or a Senior Principal Hardware Engineer level.

BQ’s for Principal Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience.
  • Secret Security Clearance is required
  • RF Hardware Experience
  • Basic team leadership, peer/lead

BQ’s for Senior Principal Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 9 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience.
  • Secret Security Clearance is required
  • RF Hardware Experience
  • Basic team leadership, peer/lead

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical planning, asset utilization management, test preparations, lab planning
  • Configuration Management, for instance git, bitbucket
  • MATLAB, MATE
  • Sensor experience, in particular radar
  • ACT cognizance
  • DAESA or at least AESA
  • Multi-function, segmented arrays
  • digital beamforming, multi-channel experience
  • RF calibration, radar waveform concepts
  • Antenna test

Salary Range: $102,400 - $153,600
Salary Range 2: $127,000 - $190,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
