PRINCIPAL OF MARY KAY MCNEILL EARLY LEARNING CENTER
SUMMARY: To serve as a building administrator for Antioch CCSD#34 Early Learning Programs. This is an Early Learning building and serves children from birth to age six.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold a Professional Educator License with an Administrator Type 75 Certificate. Administrative experience and teaching Experience with Early Childhood and/or Special Education preferred.
SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS:
Birth to age six elementary school
Approximately 155 students
Early release every Wednesday for staff professional development
All service providers on site
Preschool for All
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work at multiple levels and still help children succeed.
Ability to maintain regular and good work attendance and come to work on time.
Ability to work constructively and cooperatively with others.
Ability to respond to information requests in a courteous, timely and helpful manner.
Ability to manage job responsibilities while meeting established deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
Ability to facilitate IEP meetings as LEA (Local Education Agency) rep
Ability to complete staff evaluations and observations
Will have a working knowledge of Special Education law
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in Student Learning Teams (SLTs) and Individual Problem Solving Teams (iPSTs) meetings.
Grant writing
Follow guidelines for being a DCFS mandated reporter.
Work with building union representation.
Have an in-depth knowledge of our building's population (0-6 developmental milestones, current brain development research, special education, at-risk families, need for family education etc).
Appropriately allocate funds.
Work with individuals and teams to resolve union/labor issues.
Attend evening family events.
Support Structured Learning Program (SLP) on home visits/ program observations/ outside service provider meetings.
Participate in professional growth activities and continuous improvement.
Oversight of Preschool for All and Prevention Initiative Grants
Lead Preschool for All leadership team
Lead of Early Childhood Assessment Team (ECAT)
Oversee Improvement Plans in Preschool for All and Prevention Initiative
Evaluate all staff in the Early Learning Program
Other duties as assigned by the district administrator.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a 12 month position.
