Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Flight Test Technician 3, STE Cage, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This role is initially located in Palmdale, CA with eventual transition to EAFB, CA.
In this role, you will support the test, troubleshooting, removal, installation, modification, and maintenance of aerospace systems including, but not limited to fuel, hydraulics, ECS, flight controls, propulsion, landing gear, CNI, and ground support equipment. Candidate must be willing to work extended shifts, weekends and holidays as required to meet program schedule and objectives.
Responsibilities include:

  • Operation of ground equipment, aerospace systems checkout, performance of pre and post-use inspections, service fuel, lubrication, cooling, and other requirements as necessary.
  • Reading and interpretation schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions to fabricate and assemble necessary fixtures and/or components.

Other responsibilities may include:
  • The application of materials, appliqués, coatings, decals, primer, and paint
  • Conducting tests and reporting data in the prescribed format, using predetermined methods, sequences, and setups to inspect or test specific equipment or products

The selected Candidate must be willing to work various shifts depending on the business needs: 4x10 schedule (Mon-Thurs) 1st shift; 4x10 (Mon-Thurs) 2nd shift; 9/80, 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sa, Su) 2nd shift. 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sa, Su) 1st shift.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of industry-related experience
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Data Collection systems (MES, FMT, CAMS, etc.
  • An Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Developmental or Operational test experience
  • Mix of back shop and flightline maintenance experience
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management and/or Mission Assurance concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and train lower-level employees

Salary Range: $62,900.00 - $104,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
