As a Principal Engineer I, you’ll use your engineering expertise to maintain and enhance the company’s telecommunications and signal processing hardware, software, and electrical systems.
WHAT OUR PRINCIPAL ENGINEER I’S ENJOY MOST
- Designing, implementing, monitoring, enhancing, and troubleshooting systems in assigned areas
- Analyzing and revising existing system logic difficulties and documentation
- Testing and reviewing system designs
- Providing engineering technical support and guidance to regional personnel
- Ensuring all technical integration, changes, standards, and documentation are met
- Mentoring and guiding the work of technical staff and ensuring adherence to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations
- Providing guidance and assisting team members with Operational Readiness requirements for successful monitoring, reporting, and alerting of critical systems to improve Billing System Availability
In this role you will work with design teams and technical operations staff on system design and configuration. You will excel in this role if you can perform duties in a very fast-paced environment and learn new technology quickly.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Engineering and Project Management: 5 years or more
- Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or work experience
- Skills: Basic knowledge related to Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet, and Transport technologies and protocols; understanding of enhancements, bugs, defects to the infrastructure and mobile billing system; use of ticketing and software tools, network devices and basic network appliances such as Visio, Chalk and Office
- Abilities: Read, write, speak, and understand English; use personal computer and software applications
- Working conditions: Office environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge: Spectrum products and services
