- 8+ years of experience working in utility/renewable energy industry
- 5+ years of power transaction or contracting experience in US Pacific Northwest / WECC / CAISO energy markets
Function Specific Work Activities:
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive carbon free energy and utilities strategy for AWS data centers
- Work collaboratively with Amazon Infrastructure team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities
- Deliver electricity supply contracts enable data center capacity
- Analyze trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify opportunities that benefit Amazon
- Manage energy projects against plans and objectives to ensure commitments are met, delivering against cost savings goals
- Be a passionate self-starter

- Master’s Degree (MBA/MS)
- 10+ years of experience in Pacific Northwest / WECC / CAISO energy markets, energy trading, power contract negotiations, energy regulations, renewable development, or energy generation technologies
- Proven ability to evaluate new energy markets, utility tariffs, policies, power contracts, or evaluating new energy sourcing opportunities and technologies
- Familiarity with renewable credit programs, renewable project development, power forecasting and scheduling, portfolio management theory, advanced energy storage, or alternative energy resources
- Experience building relationships and working with industry stakeholders, such as utilities, regional power planning agencies, renewable project developers, project investors, and renewable OEMs
- The ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects with minimal direction
- Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills and attention to details
- Be a passionate self-starter
- Proven track record for cultivating strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, or customers
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $140,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
