Principal DevOps Architect


CodaMetrix is a well-capitalized and early stage company focused on solving interesting problems in the healthcare administrative and clinical space. The company was formed by Massachusetts General Brigham (MGB) to help commercialize and build upon internally developed, and highly utilized AI-based applications.

The Role

The Principal DevOps Architect is responsible for overseeing all aspects of development IT operations, including architecting cloud infrastructure needed for supporting the production application and code operations such as build, test, and deployment. Our DevOps team works with members of other teams to provide technical resources, support, and troubleshooting of internal and externally facing applications and the Principal DevOps Architect helps to oversee these team interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) systems and methodologies
  • Understand company business requirements and goals, and how those translate to IT needs
  • Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, observable, and self-healing
  • Define and deploy observability systems enabling teams to gain technical and business insights, and avoid system failures via metrics, logging, and tracing
  • Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes
  • Understand, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
  • Work with other teams to achieve business objectives
  • Develops a DevOps team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Report status in internal management meetings on current and future releases
  • Assist in budget preparations to advance the shared software utilized in CodaMetrix’s offerings
  • Recommend and implement novel DevOps technologies and methodologies

Requirements

  • Experience developing in Python, Java, Node.js or similar
  • Experience in automation, configuration management and testing via shell scripting and tools such as Ansible and Terraform
  • Experience managing CICD pipelines using Jenkins
  • Database management expertise, ideally with experience in PostgreSQL
  • Experience with container management utilizing Docker and Kubernetes
  • Two or more years’ experience provisioning, operating, and managing AWS environments, utilizing infrastructure-as-code techniques
  • Understanding of agile and other development processes and methodologies
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with both management and peers
  • Passionate about technology, automation and security
