Position available at our Bimini residential treatment program for men and women.
Summary
Perform the core functions of a Counselor as assigned. Functions may include but are not limited to screening, intake, assessment, orientation, counseling (individual, group, family), treatment planning, case management, and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Role model appropriate healthy and ethical behaviors in all interactions, including HIPAA and Confidentiality standards.
- Maintain a primary caseload of residents/participants, assisting and advocating for them in meeting their unique needs within the program structure.
- Develop a treatment plan for each resident/participant on the caseload and evaluate their progress in meeting the goals and objectives within the treatment plan.
- Update the individual treatment plans, as appropriate, in a timely manner.
- Document the services provided according to standards set by the Agency and applicable County, State, and Federal regulations. Documentation should be clear, concise, and completed in a timely manner.
- If determined by the Program Director, maintain and update program curricula.
- Facilitate full utilization of service units, including Case Management, as directed by the supervisor.
- Assist with resident’s/participant’s benefits (e.g. DPSS, SSI, Medi-Cal) application(s).
- Familiarity and adherence to all regulatory expectations and ethical standards and Agency policies and procedures, including the Agency’s Core Beliefs.
- Maintain constructive relationships with family members, community members and organizations, human services agencies, and other professionals.
Other requirements
- Current SUD Counselor registration or certification with a State approved certification agency (must become certified within five years from initial date of registration).
- non-smoker preferred
- Knowledge of 12-Step programs and/or philosophy.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certifications.
