Description of Work Unit
Perform planned/preventive maintenance on mechanical and structural equipment. Provide support, repair, and maintenance services to the campus in order to maintain and assist in repairing the campus building mechanical/structural systems. Assist the central shop employees to deliver services and interact with the building proctors and/or occupants in these areas.
Position Summary
Act as the shop lead technician to assist with overseeing performance of preventive maintenance activities and personnel including minor repair of rotating mechanical systems including, but not limited to fans, sheaves, belts, bearings, motors, pumps, and filters. Performs vibration analysis on motors, pumps and fans. Performs preventive maintenance and repair on air compressors and vacuum pumps. Ensure contact with building proctors is established for outages and acts on behalf of supervisor during absences. Direct, assist and supervised technicians as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate in the application materials:
  • Three years of progressively responsible HVAC/R experience.

  • Knowledge of air compressors and vacuum pumps
  • Leadership or Work Lead experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
