About the Role

Essity Manufacturing Professional Hygiene North America is currently seeking a Preventative Maintenance Leader. This position will be based in our manufacturing facility in Neenah, WI.

The PM Leader will be responsible for developing and driving the mills Preventative Maintenance strategy and performance. PM is a key element of our improvement and sustainability efforts, and the PM Leader will help shape the way we maintain our assets for optimum reliability and productivity.

Through the development of improved standards such as routine inspections, monitoring, lubrication and general proactive maintenance routines the PM leader will ultimately deliver more reliable assets and reduce reactive efforts and cost.

As well as developing routines and standards the PM leader will also help improve and maintain the capability development of our employees in this critical area. The PM leader will directly manage a team of skilled employees (Maintenance & Reliability Support Team), will ultimately have responsibility for the storeroom and will support the MRL’s and Cell Maintenance teams in planned activities where additional focus and support is required. The PM Leader will report directly to the Mid-West Operational Director.

What You Will Do

  • Provide hands-on PM planning and execution support to specific focus assets;
  • Implementing ‘best-in-class’ PM standards and approaches;
  • Identify gaps and support PM training and capability needs at site;
  • Performs PM enabler health checks across site, all cells;
  • Supports accountability for plant maintenance and reliability cost, equipment availability and spare part inventory;
  • Support Maintenance Supervisor PM capability and ownership;
  • Interface with site Maintenance Supervisors, maintenance teams, and union to promote continuous improvement through integration, sharing and reapplication of best practices;
  • Participate in and deliver PM training topics;
  • Monitor the plant implementation and health of PM enablers via training, coaching and health checks;
  • Facilitates setting plant standards and delivering plant training and qualifications;
  • Full time member of plant leadership team;
  • Member of the Tissue North America PM network;
  • Participate in PM Network regional meetings;
  • Owner of plant PM standards;
  • Site owner of implementation of systems, SAP MP&S, BDE, Defect Handling, Storeroom Management and Lubrication standards for the site;
  • Direct ownership of Site Storeroom facility, costs and service level;
  • Manager of Maintenance & Reliability Support Team and shift-based maintenance resources.

Who You Are

  • Has passion for the role and a vision for best-in-class maintenance;
  • Will role model and is known for setting high standards;
  • Can devote at least 20% time to PM activities coaching, health checks and creating standards;
  • Has experience as a department manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or similar.
  • Be intermediate qualified and be a qualifier for Manufacturing Excellence Modules of BDE, MPS, DH;
  • Collaborates well with others;
  • Has a technical background and has recognized maintenance and management skills;
  • Demonstrates great training skills;
  • Ability to work and communicate with outside resources: OEM representatives, vendors, contractors, service companies;
  • Problem solving and root cause analysis skills;
  • Personal computer skills, especially Maintenance Management software, e.g. Passport, Excel, Word, Outlook.

Technical / Specialized Knowledge

  • Functional Knowledge: HMex/WMex/CI/TPM Tools, Site-Specific Equipment and Preventative Maintenance Planning Processes;
  • Business Expertise: Continuous Improvement Methodologies, TPM Concepts, and Outcomes. Predictive/preventative Maintenance techniques;
  • Leadership: Able to lead diverse groups of people, identify skill and competency needs, and develop skills and capabilities to achieve organizational and succession-planning goals;
  • Problem Solving: Able to support TPM and HMex Tools and use investigative problem solving techniques;
  • Nature and Area of Impact: Functional Area, Site Neenah, Collaborate with PM Network regional team;
  • Communication Skills: Strong Written and Oral communication and presentation skills.
