In this role you will...
As a Press/Lamination Assistant, you will be responsible to assist the operator in all the functions required to produce a quality product and to do the work in a safe manner by following company policies and procedures. They are responsible for ensuring that the product does not become contaminated in any way and the equipment is maintained in a manner that ensures that it operates as designed and is safe at all times.
12 hr shifts on 3/2 schedule 7p-7a
Must be able to read tape measure.
Responsibilities:
- Be familiar with the operation of all safety devices on the press
- Read and interpret the Job Jacket and History Folder
- Retrieve plate cylinders for the next order
- Load raw material rolls into unwind
- Prepare splices on unwind rolls
- Remove printed rolls from the rewind
- Load empty cores, cut to the proper size, on rewind and prepare for splice. Palletized printed rolls and unused raw material rolls
- Remove and collect raw material roll labels
- Maintain the proper viscosity of all inks
- Retrieve inks from the ink room for each job
- Return unused inks to the ink room after completed jobs
- Weigh waste and complete waste tickets
- Assist operator with press set up
- Help monitor quality of material being produced
- Wash down the print decks and hook up inks for the next job Install and remove cylinder gears on geared presses
- Waste, strip, and return plates after job is completed
- Seal and properly label hazardous waste drums
- Move full hazardous waste drums to ink room
- Clean doctor blade units and remove doctor blades
- Keep work area and equipment clean per SQF Food Safety requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
PPE Required: Hairnet Safety Glasses Safety Shoes (Steel Toed)
Physical Requirements: Must be able lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
Training: Each new employee or current employee who transfers to a new position receives a minimum of two weeks of OJT working with individual(s)who are assigned to that position. This allows the trainee to work around the equipment and learn all the duties required with the necessary assistance or guidance available. Hazardous waste training will be provided to employees within six months of their hire date and a review of this training will be provided every twelve months thereafter.

Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week
