POSITION SUMMARY
The Press/Feeder Operator ensures that the manufacturing processes run effectively and efficiently in a clean, healthy, and safe working environment to produce products that meet specified Quality Standards and Specifications, and which are produced economically and delivered in a timely manner.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare and operate printing machines according to proper instructions and procedures.
- Obtain the stock and job tickets for different orders.
- Load the jobs into the feeder machine and make ready sheets.
- Monitor the different ink levels during each job and add ink when necessary.
- Monitor the cleaning supplies including: fill the bottles, plunger guns, gallon containers, fold mags, and empty the rag buckets.
- Monitor the fountain solution and add/mix accordingly.
- Monitor the feeder including but not limited to air levels, height of pile, and check/pull.
- support and maintain the feeder head (sockets, fingers, and others).
- Load the ink at the beginning of a new job.
- Pull and remove ink from press machine accordingly.
- Hang and change plates/blankets accordingly.
- Make quick corrections to avoid expensive losses of substrate and ink.
- Follow procedures to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Keep the area clean and organized.
- Follow any other instructions given by supervisor and management
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate with peers and management.
- Interpretation of sizes, thicknesses and substrates, inks as specified by customers.
- Print background to produce artwork according to exact customer specifications.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and Troubleshooting printing skills.
- Excellent working skills to operate and maintain various printing equipment.
- Great communication and leadership skills
- Problem-solving mindset
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or higher education required.
- Previous hands on experience with press equipment including but not limited to: Lithograph.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
