Form of workGENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Oversees general production in assigned department.
REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor/Production Manager
SUPERVISION GIVEN: None.
PLANT: Yellow Springs Works
SHIFT: 2nd (3:30pm-2am Monday—Thursday)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and prolonged standing. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds continuously throughout an eight (8) hour shift. Requires normal vision and hearing range. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is primarily performed in a factory environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Duties performed as a working leader
2. Responsible for correct set-ups, set-up times, improving hit to hit time, efficiencies and productivity of area.
3. Assists associate(s) with initial inspection to assure quality of parts produced.
4. Oversees completion of paperwork on quality, piece count and material traceability.
5. Assist with and coordinate training of new hire associates and any additional training needed for seasoned associates. This includes all aspects of Plex.
6. Ensures associates are manufacturing parts to print or works with tool room/quality personnel to accomplish requirements.
7. Determines need for maintenance and works with maintenance/tool room to accomplish requirements.
8. Oversees and/or performs all material handling issues to keep equipment up and running. Includes disposition of all raw, WIP, scrap and hold items and pre-staging dies, material and containers.
9. Troubleshoots machine problems, and assists with resolving problems.
10. Work with scheduler and production manager to prioritize and coordinate schedule.
11. Monitor walk-about information and follow up as necessary.
12. Ensures that associates maintain clean and orderly work area, including organized tools.
13. Perform duties in a safe manner with attention to quality.
14. Must be able to lead others and keep associates motivated and enthusiastic.
15. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· Previous experience with machine operations required, specifically Punch Press Operations.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
· Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required while performing duties in production areas.
· Maintain organized schedules and filing
· Some computer literacy and data entry knowledge.
