Job Summary
The Press Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and adjusting, or changes as necessary to maintain quality specification. Performs at a high standard to minimize downtime, drive productivity, and ensure a high standard of safety and quality.
Duties
- Operate all presses as needed to support department and company goals.
- Perform quality inspections to specifications per procedure.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Perform work using air or electric-powered hand tools and make adjustments to equipment as necessary.
- Count, package, and palletize finished products by work orders.
- Material handling of cartons, labels, pallets, and packaging tape.
- Assist other personnel with press set-ups and changeovers.
- Communicate with department leadership regarding issues and improvements.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Forklift Certification a plus.
- Safety: Able to consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and by promoting a safe work environment.
- Able to safely operate manual pallet jack
- Attendance: Able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance.
- Able to apply basic mathematical skills. (Add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimal equivalents).
- Must be able to read blueprints and familiarity with engineering drawings.
- Ability to enter production/quality data in a computer
- Must wear safety shoes, hard hats, gloves and safety masks.
- Reading comprehension: Able to read and write simple correspondence and able to follow instructions.
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must speak English and be able to communicate one-on-one and in small group settings.
- Must be able be able to bend, stoop, and lift 50-70 lbs. consistently.
- Requires standing in one place for long periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
