Job Title:2nd ShiftPress Brake Operator
Reporting to: 2nd Shift Production Supervisor
Division: NPS - Metals
Location: Fargo, ND
Shift: 4:00 pm - 2:30 M- TH, OT Fridays, Training on 1st shift
Shift Differential: $2.00
Summary/Objectives
Responsible for the preparation, forming operations and packaging of parts per customer specification.
Essential Functions
  • Check equipment processing programs against work orders, drawings and pick tickets.
  • Oversees all Press Brake Operators and trains new hires
  • Must have knowledge of SAP and ability to read blueprints
  • Load, install and currently set up the tooling required for each job and part.
  • Setup, operate and position all pieces into the machine to match customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate a full understanding of print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part.
  • Demonstrate and apply understanding of flat pattern layout.
  • Check parts against calibrated devices to ensure accuracy of bends.
  • Load and operate machine.
  • Check quality against job specifications and report any deviation to the supervisor.
  • Review work in progress and report accordingly.
  • Check on equipment status and report any defects to the maintenance department and supervisor.
  • Clean-up and organize work area and other surroundings.
  • Assist with packaging of all formed parts per customer requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education and Experience

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing throughout the day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. Environment is not fully climate controlled.
