Schedule: Mon.-Thurs. – 6am to 4:30pm
Summary
The purpose of this position is to operate CNC Press Brake equipment to manufacture parts to exact specification. You will be required to read and understand complex blueprints, follow production schedules, ensure the machine is well maintained, and follow safety procedures at all times.
Essential Functions
- Operate Press Brake machines to produce components as per the specifications.
- Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints to properly input data into machines.
- Utilize calipers, tape measures, gauges, and other measuring tools inspect parts and confirm that they have met blueprint specifications.
- Examine workpieces for defects, blemishes, and quality; make necessary adjustments and, when necessary, notify supervisor of any concerns.
- Advise Engineering Department of ways to optimize design and tooling for production.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance procedures to ensure optimal functionality (e.g., clean or lubricate machine).
- Report any issues, malfunctions, or discrepancies to the supervisor promptly.
- Participate in ongoing training to improve skills and stay updated with latest industry trends.
- Ensure all actions are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Complete other duties and cross-training activities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Three (3) to five (5) years Press Brake experience required
Specialized Knowledge
- Ability to read a standard tape measure to the 16thand angle finder to the degree
- Knowledge, recognition and use of hand and power tools
- Knowledge of bend allowances and the methods for achievement
- Analytical and mathematical skills to interpret layout and blueprints
Competencies
- Proven experience as a CNC Press Brake Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with Delem Controllers preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a good understand of machine operation and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal guidance, and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Willingness to help where and when needed, beyond the scope of normal day-to-day duties
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to see small details at close range
- Ability to quickly move hands, arms, or fingers to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
- Balance and flexibility, with an ability to safely navigate over and around equipment and tools
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and squatting
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Occupational Conditions
- Manufacturing facility – must comply with all safety regulations and PPE requirements (e.g., gloves, face shields, steel toe shoes, safety glasses)
- Exposure to hot and cold temps for long periods of time
