Preschool Teacher

CNS, a developmental, Christian Nursery School in Studio City is seeking a Teacher who is a committed educator dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young children and families. CNS is a well-established, early childhood education center with students ranging from 2-3 years of age. Teachers at CNS provide an educational, nurturing, and safe environment for students, staff, and parents.

Qualifications

• No less than 12 credits in early childhood education or related field
• Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions
• Ability to relate well with both children and their parents
• Emotional maturity and stability

General Responsibilities:

• Working cooperatively with other group teachers and directors to produce age-appropriate curriculum and an environment that will meet the special needs of each individual child as well as ability group.
• Making the classroom a safe, clean, exciting environment where children have many choices of self-exploration activities.
• Being flexible, a team player, with regards to classroom and class assignment. Serve where needed.
• Creating opportunities to model good citizenship, social behavior, bathroom manners, table etiquette and conflict mediation.
• Providing a written lesson on our Play-Based curriculum, with emphasis on the five domains for development: social/emotional, language, physical, cognitive and self-help.
• Develop activities to stimulate the children.
• Promote literacy and early education.
• Keeping open communication, both verbal and written, with parents.
• Attend all school functions on the School Calendar.
• Attending weekly staff meetings.
• Supervise children at all times.
• Performing any other duties as assigned.
• Have the ability to learn the online check-in system Brightwheel.

Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-3:15pm, 45-minute lunch (30-hour work week), attendance at school events.

Benefits:
Paid Sick Leave - This position will accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked after 90th day of employment. Teachers mostly follow the LAUSD calendar for school breaks and holidays. 90% employer-paid premium health insurance, 100% employer-paid vision, and dental, and voluntary specialty (critical care, accidental death, etc.).

Salary: $19-$23 hourly depending on education and experience.
