Preschool Teacher (Full-Time) Spanish Immersion

We are looking for a full time Preschool Teacher to start ASAP.

Preschool Teacher (FULL TIME 40 hours per week)

A Preschool Teacher works with at least one other full time teacher to carry out the school's mission and vision in the classroom. Teaching, planning curriculum and activities, supervising children at all times, maintaining a clean and inviting classroom environment, and assisting children throughout the daily routine are the broad duties.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work as a team in carrying out a developmentally appropriate educational program in accordance with SF Tikes Academy’s philosophy, mission, and vision.
• Participate in school team meetings & staff development days
• Change the classroom environment around from time to time, as children’s needs and interests shift. Keep it inviting, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate.
• Communicates and partners with parents in a professional and culturally sensitive way to create the best possible outcomes for the children.
• Provide responsive, culturally appropriate care routines for children - toileting, diapering, toilet training, hand and face washing, changing of wet or soiled clothing, putting on or taking off weather-appropriate outdoor gear
• Supervise children at all times
• Perform cleaning tasks throughout the day to keep the environment clean and sanitary.
• Communicate with school management team in a timely fashion as needed with regards to observations, questions, concerns and ideas regarding the program, children, and parents

Qualifications

• AA or BA in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, or related field with 12 core ECE units from an accredited college or university.
• 1-2 years of ECE classroom teaching experience
• Communicate in verbal and written English well enough to be understood by children, coworkers, and parents.
• Fluency in Spanish required (Spanish-immersion classroom)
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Physical Capabilities

• Be able to stand, walk, run, squat or kneel, bend at the waist, sit on the floor, sit on chairs, visually supervise children up close and across a classroom or playground space, hear, speak.
• Be physically able to quickly reach children (within 10 seconds) to respond to their needs, conflicts or emergencies.
• Lift up to 45 lbs occasionally

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
