Willow Loft Preschool Teacher Assistant

Compensation: $17.00 per hour

8:00am-4:30pm Full Time Monday-Friday *Hiring Immediately*

This is a long-term leadership role that will also include admin tasks. We are willing to train the right person!

Responsibilities:

• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play,, etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
• Collaborate with other teachers and assistants
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass background check and fingerprinting.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children in a professional setting.
• Must complete and maintain Pediatric CPR and First Aid Training certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability and willingness to be self-directed in problem solving and decision-making.
• Perform basic assignments with little or no direct supervision while also working effectively as a team member.
• Responsible work ethic with reliable attendance.
• Must be able to provide own transportation to meet work schedule requirements.

About Us:

Our work calendar closely follows the Anchorage School District’s calendar of attendance. We are a small private program that offers structure, fun, low stress and a respectful environment!

You will be working with children ages 3-5 years alongside the other teachers and staff. Your duties will include administrative tasks, orchestrating group times, cleaning duties and playing with children.
