Description:
The Preschool Gross Motor Teacher will provide and maintain high levels of quality by helping and supporting preschool teachers and students with Gross Motor development and activities. The primary role is to adapt and modify Gross Motor activities to help preschool teachers meet student development. The Preschool Gross Motor Teacher works within the district and contracted private provider classrooms.
Job Summary:

• Provides support and suggests interventions to preschool teachers, families, and other personnel so that all children can succeed within the general education classroom
• Establishes and manages classroom management of students while instructing Gross Motor activities
• Provides support to preschool teachers in the area of the assessment of student Gross Motor abilities
• Makes visits to Private Providers and elementary schools
• Collaborates with the Preschool Support Team to ensure that the state and district preschool program Gross Motor guidelines are being met
• Sets up and puts away proper age appropriate Gross Motor equipment/activities both indoors and outdoors weather permitting at all supported sites
• Adheres to the Gross Motor safety guidelines
• Set up the gymnasium with Gross Motor activities (could be changes to: set up the indoor and outdoor Gross Motor spaces/activities)
• Create monthly thematic plans
• Meet with the preschool team to determine student (abilities and) needs
• Maintain a well-organized (and safe) Gross Motor space

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Preschool through grade three standard instructional certificate or Standard Elementary Instructional Certificate, and the equivalent of two academic years of full-time experience teaching three and four year olds under the certificate in a position that would require the preschool through grade three endorsement; or Standard New Jersey nursery school instructional certificate; or Preschool through grade three endorsement in addition to other standard instructional certificates, except as indicated at N.J.A.C. 6A_9-11.2 and 11.7.,
• Three to five years' experience teaching in preschool programs
• Experience with mindfulness activities for young children and yoga preferred
• Experience with Creative Curriculum preferred
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
• Commitment to complete work on various levels
• Appropriate New Jersey State Teacher Certification

Working Conditions:

• Early Childhood Development Center, with responsibilities to travel to all schools and private providers with preschool classrooms.

Salary:

• As per HBOE/HEA Agreement
