QUALIFICATIONS
Holds valid Kentucky IECE certification.
POSITION SUMMARY
To facilitate the student's fulfillment of their potential development in the areas of social/emotional and cognitive/intellectual, motor, language, and self-help.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and manage the classroom schedule to ensure a balance of active and quiet experiences.
Write lesson plans to include themes, materials and overall skills or goals.
Prepare the classroom for each day's instruction.
Facilitate large and small group activities.
Create and interchange educational experiences in centers.
Display student work.
Organize and contact community people in an effort to broaden experiences through field trips and guest speakers.
Conduct a minimum of two home visits for state funded students.
Assist with program evaluation
Evaluate developmental processes associated with Response to Intervention and Needs Assessment.
Monitor and implement IEPs of eligible students.
Serve as case manager of eligible students.
Participate in professional development activities appropriate to the areas of responsibility.
Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth.
Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Organize and participate in scheduled family nights.
Maintain standards of student behavior and ensure safety of students and staff.
Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth.
Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance.
Maintain appropriate professional appearance.
Adhere to the appropriate code of ethics.
Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.

Ability to develop age-appropriate lesson plans
Ability to assess child behavior; plan, implement, and monitor interventions, and assist families

Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
Communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
Use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights.
Lifting up to 50 pounds.
Sitting on the floor and/or small student chairs.
