About us

TOT-Teams of Tomorrow is a small business in EDUCATION in San Antonio, TX. We are professional and agile. TOT is a very unique basketball ball handling and dribbling program for preschool boys and girls. The program focuses on individual basketball ball handling and dribbling skills, as well as improving fine and gross motor, agility, and listening skills. TOT students show off their skills during performances scheduled during the year.

Preschool Basketball Teacher
This position is Part-time with Part-time Pay.
Hiring for Tues, Wed, & Fri morning classes.

Classes around the
*Bandera Rd area/Medical Area,
Helotes, 1604/Culebra

TOT teachers typically work 3-10 class per week depending on candidate availability and fluctuating demand for programs.

August 2023-May 2024

  • Monday-Friday classes available.
  • Attend all performance event
  • 4 weeks of break following the public school calendar

Position Summary:
Can you imagine yourself teaching children in a fun and inclusive environment using a basketball to promote ball handling and dribbling skills, a mini academic less, and FUN games that promotes playful learning while working on fine and gross motor skills, and YOU could be at the center of the experience!

The primary focus of this position will be to teach TOT basketball, attend all performances, and other meetings. Teachers will use guided lesson plans for our weekly class. TOT classes are guided by a weekly CD and includes teaching a new dribbling or ball handling skill, teaching a mini academic lesson as well as playing games using different manipulatives (bean bags, scarves, tennis balls, etc.) to work on motor skill development.

Programs are conducted for children ages 3-5. This role requires collaboration and communication with TOT management as well as representing the TOT organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead groups of up to 12 students through curriculum-guided activities
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment;
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
  • Manage student behavior in the TOT class by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
  • Foster a positive and inclusive class environment
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of TOT
  • Ensure the health and safety of all students at all times
  • Handle inquiries from parents regarding TOT programs;
  • Have good communication between Directors and teachers
  • Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future TOT programs;
  • Participate in periodic TOT training & staff meetings

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare or educational setting
  • Knowledge of child development principles and practices
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques for young children
  • Experience in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities
  • Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment for children

Note: Experience or knowledge in basketball, or other physical education activities is a plus but not required.

Qualifications:

  • 18 or older
  • Have reliable transportation
  • LOVES working with children age range 3-5 year olds
  • Loves being active or wants to be active
  • Education degree or college students pursuing a degree in education, kinesiology, or a similar field are also encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
  • Criminal and Child Clearances must be current (can help with acquiring)
  • CPR & 1st Aide certification is a must (can help with acquiring)
  • Can commit to a teacher schedule from Sept. to May.

This is our 10th year offering classes, and I have been lucky enough to have the same TOT Teachers on staff for the past few years because everybody falls in love with the program when they see it!

We are looking for a dedicated Preschool Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and/or basketball. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting. They should be knowledgeable about child development principles and practices, as well as possess strong behavior management skills. The ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment is essential. Experience or knowledge in physical education activities such movement or basketball is a plus but not required.
