Preschool Assistant Teacher (Associates Degree & 2 Years Exp. Required)

Responsibilities:

• Support the lead toddler teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and lessons.
• Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment.
• Supervise and interact with toddlers during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Foster positive relationships with toddlers and provide them with emotional support and guidance.
• Assist with feeding, diapering, and toilet training routines, promoting independence and self-help skills.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher and other team members to assess each child's progress and contribute to individualized learning plans.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, sharing updates on their child's daily activities and development.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; ECE credentials (EDU 119) and 6 additional semester hours in ECE or an Associates in ECE.
• Previous experience working with children in a childcare setting, preschool, or early learning center.
• Knowledge of child development principles and a strong understanding of age-appropriate practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow the lead teacher.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain them).
• Current NC Child Care Background check (or willingness to obtain one).
