SUMMARY

We are SCI - a fast-paced commercial design and in-house manufacturing firm specializing in creating custom space for the restaurant, education, retail, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and corporate industries with over 35 years of experience. As part of the SCI team, you will be working with a diverse mix of clients, from Fortune 500 companies rolling out new décor packages nationwide to niche commercial and hospitality one-off projects. Our clients rely on us to provide them with out-of-the-box solutions unique to their needs and goals and a smooth, stress-free project from start to finish.

As a Prepress/Graphic Designer, you are responsible for reviewing, editing, repairing, and enhancing all incoming customer orders to ensure they are ready for print production, as well as creating new designs. This position will also assist in other parts of print production as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Work on new designs and make revisions to existing files which may include: typesetting, illustrations, photo manipulation, logo design, branding, and designing printed collateral
• Maintain project libraries and organize materials by concept, campaign, customer, etc.
• Impose digital files for efficient print production while following branding guidelines

• Ability to catch spelling and grammar mistakes with ease.
• Effectively and professionally communicate with clients and advise of any issues concerning their files or deadline.
• Prepare client graphic files for optimum proofing and production results
• Ensure file and production consistency with past and similar jobs
• Send proofs to customers and follow up until approval is received.

PREPRESS REQUIREMENTS

• Working knowledge of Mac-based Adobe CC software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat Pro)
• Understanding of file types, fonts, color theory, standardized styles (character, paragraph, object), and industry terminology
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based workflow.
• Previous Experience with EFI Fiery software a Plus.
• Ability to communicate with customers and other team members to keep jobs on track
• Excellent verbal/written communication and math skills
• Ability to adhere to file preparation, naming, and organization standards.
