ImageSet is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prepress Specialist to join our team. As a Prepress Specialist, you’ll will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our print products before they go to production. You’ll preflight client files for printing by checking that the file reflects the spec’s for the printed piece and that color space, bleed, page order, and layout is correct.
You’ll need experience in sheet-fed Digital Printing, wide format flatbed printing, and routing/cutting equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and preflight client files for printing
- Ensure proper color management and image resolution; check fonts, links, and crop marks for accuracy
- Make necessary adjustments to files to meet printing and production specifications.
- Prepare and send files to outside print vendors or digital platforms as necessary.
- Maintain and organize digital assets and archives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and software tools.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in prepress, print production, or design-related field.
- Strong working knowledge of all industry software including; InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, and Pitstop.
- In-depth understanding of print production processes, particularly Digital Printing and wide format printing
- Knowledgeable in mailing software and variable data
- Knowledge of preflight and prepress automation tools
- High degree of quality and accuracy consciousness
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Able to do basic graphic design and page layout
- Experience with HP Indigo, HP r2000 flatbed printer, and/or Colex cutter is a big plus
- Three years minimum experience preferred.
