A DAY IN THE LIFE
Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 10 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, tobacco, and toxicity testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.
Our El Dorado Hills, CA facility is currently seeking a Full-Time Sample Prep Chemist to join our team.
Schedule: 2nd Shift (2 PM - 10:30 PM)
Scheduled Days: Tuesday - Saturday -OR- Sunday - Thursday
As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
  • Preparation, extraction, and clean-up of various environmental sample matrices
  • Perform sample preparation where needed (i.e. homogenization, etc.)
  • Use of centrifuge, analytical balance, and various evaporative systems with organic solvents
  • Dispose of laboratory waste in a safe manner following prescribed procedures
  • Maintaining clean laboratory areas
  • Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
  • Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
  • Dispose of laboratory waste in a safe manner following prescribed procedures
  • Comply with Enthalpy's Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Comply with Enthalpy's Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director
  • Individuals will get scheduled on a Sunday - Wednesday shift or Wednesday - Saturday shift.
  • Occasional unplanned overtime and weekend work may be required.
Physical Demands:
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Lifting or moving objects up to 50lbs
  • Repetitive hand motions
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree in the chemical, environmental, physical or biological sciences Skills
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Basic understanding of laboratory techniques
  • Ability to function both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to follow all standard operating procedures
  • Detail-oriented and desire to produce high quality work - Perform at a high level under strict time
  • Prior Laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an entry level position
  • Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
  • Good organizational skills and strong communication skills
