Description of Position

Franklin Hospital is seeking applicants for a full-time Pre-Certification Specialist, as part of Patient Financial Services. During down time in Precertification daily processes, position will assist with Billing functions as assigned. Pre-certification duties will be done when necessary for surgical procedures, CT, MRI, stress tests, echocardiograms, physical therapy, laboratory, and/or other testing as needed per patients’ insurance coverage. Employee must maintain a good working relationship with outside providers, facilities, insurance companies, and with other departments/employees of the Hospital. Regular hours are either 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. five days per week or 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. four days per week, with occasional adjustments to work schedule as needed. Bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with basic computer skills and willingness and ability to learn the host systems and the individual insurance websites. Also requires medical terminology knowledge and prior experience working in a healthcare setting, as well as strong teamwork, organizational, customer service, problem solving, multitasking and communication skills. Medical coding training and/or experience preferred.
