JOB PURPOSE:
We are looking for a motivated, energetic person to take over the management of our existing Quality Control department. The right candidate will be able to manage the current Quality Control Technicians and create policies and procedures to keep the department running efficiently and within budget.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee Quality Control department and technicians
- Manage department budget and expenditures
- Lead Quality Control Department in audits and maintaining documents and records
- Perform quality assessments on all products before yarding.
- Properly categorize all products that fail to meet quality expectations.
- Resolve quality-related issues promptly regarding shipping and forklifts.
- Recommend corrective/preventive actions to QC and Production to eliminate the causes of actual or potential non-conformance.
- Perform inspection and testing per ACI field and strength.
- Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to specifications.
- Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure Quality Control.
- Document inspection outcomes, deficiencies, and waste products and report to QC and production management
- Quality Control personnel are a function of the Production Department. Technicians must check that products meet the proper specifications without interfering with the production team's ability to produce the product.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Existing ACI/PQS (Production & Quality School) / PCI (Precast Concrete Institute) certifications REQUIRED
- Strong understanding of concrete mix designs and proper use for each precast product
- Experience in Quality Control
- Comprehend reasonable instructions and plan steps to perform essential functions with minimal supervision.
- Comprehend and consistently perform the safety functions of the essential functions.
- Experience in a construction setting
- May be required to pass ACI (American Concrete Institute) Testing / maintain certification
- Ability to understand units of measurement and translate them to production
