Childers, Schlueter & Smith, LLC, a prestigious Atlanta-based law firm, is in search of a dynamic new member for its team, primarily serving as a Pre-Litigation Team Member for the firm. This position involves close interaction with clients, medical providers and insurance companies. Job Summary:
The Pre-Litigation Team Member is one of the first line of communication with new clients. They work closely with attorneys and paralegals to coordinate obtaining the required information needed to move the case forward. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, demonstrate attention to detail, and have excellent time management and organizational skills in a high-volume environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Makes initial phone contact with the client, verifies information, send out welcome letters and any additional documents required.
• Orders medical records, billing records, pharmacy records, radiology imaging, etc. Process the records that come in mail daily. Prepare each HIPAA for each request. Check all records ordered against our records retrieval company daily to ensure nothing missed.
• Process all product liability cases including extracting all Operative Reports and Implant Records from hospital records. Type new implant information and manufacturer on the specific product Info tab and email operative reports and implant information to in-house co-workers as needed.
• Process all mass tort and product liability cases, including new cases.
• Search for liens (hospital, Medicaid/care, child support, etc.)
• Effectively manage case load, e-mails, etc.
• Answer phones on an overflow or substitute basis as needed, call clients, provide timely updates.
• Records invoices (Date stamp all invoices, enter into Filevine with provider’s names and amounts, put invoices in alphabetical order and then give to accountant for processing.
• Prepare cut loose letters as requested/needed including certified mail, regular mail, etc.). Manage cut loose letters that are returned unclaimed or not deliverable in Needles.
• Manage all Medicare and Medicaid requests to include sending out Proofs of Rep to clients and posting note in Needles.
• Send out correspondence letters for attorneys as needed.
• Work closely with attorneys and paralegals to ensure the proper information is obtained to move the case forward.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or GED
• College degree is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years related experience
• Experience using a legal case management software preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
