Full Time | 40 Hours per week
8:30a – 5:30p with a 1-hour break, Monday through Friday

Position Summary:
A Child’s Place Early Learning Center is seeking a full-time, on-site, Preschool/PreK Floating Teacher who will be responsible for the supervision and care of our young children ages 4-5 years. This is a highly collaborative role working closely with our Preschool and PreK team. Our Preschool and PreK teams works to promote the social, emotional, academic, and physical growth of our students. Our classroom teachers and assistants are also responsible for building positive, professional relationships with our parents and families to support open and continuous communication.
The ideal teacher would be comfortable floating between our preschool and PreK Classrooms. They would also be comfortable substitute teaching in place of the classroom teacher during their absence utilizing preplanned lessons left by the lead, assisting in our Preschool and Pre K Classrooms on a daily basis, taking direction from our lead teachers, conforming to an established schedule and providing support to students and staff.
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise group of students in a variety of settings (e.g. snack time, group or individual activities, playground activities, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment
- Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision, effective management of space, proper maintenance of equipment, and regular practice of fire drills and other emergency procedures
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and policies and procedures to maintain order among students
- Create an open, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere in which children and families feel comfortable and secure
- Design an environment that responds to the children’s individual developmental levels and interests
- Implement lesson plans to reflect the approved ACP curriculum
- Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs and interests
- Assist in preparing students academically, emotionally, physically, and socially to ensure Kindergarten readiness
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use
- Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development such as games, arts and crafts, music, and sing-a-longs, storytelling
- Prepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate an effective learning environment
- Ensure that parents receive adequate information about their child’s experiences at the center
- Assist with transitioning onto the next classroom, including the transition to Kindergarten
- Complete appropriate paperwork in a neat and organized manner (i.e. daily reports, incident reports, attendance sheets, medication logs, etc)
- Attend monthly staff meetings and all required trainings for the purpose of receiving and conveying information related to program
- Clean and maintain the classroom/playground environment
- Interact with and engage the children in a positive manner
- Provide constant, supportive and professional communication with coworkers, parents, and children
- Have the ability to conform to an established and consistent work schedule
- Follow all DHS and Keystone Stars requirements
- Adhere to all policies found in the ACP Employee Handbook
- Provide First Aid/CPR in the event of an Emergency, if certified
- All other tasks, as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or higher in Early Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education, or a Human Services related field
- 1 Year of documentable experience working with Preschoolers/PreK Students
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 2 years of documentable experience working with children
- Ability to successfully pass and maintain all background/clearance checks.
- Maintain an employee file in accordance with DHS and ACP regulations.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping.
- Climb up and down stairs.
- Have the mobility required to ensure the safety of the children.
- Work with children on the floor.
- Work outdoors in any variety of weather.
- Have visual and hearing capabilities that allow consistent supervision of children with DHS licensing safety requirements.
- Perform light duty cleaning.
- Light typing and word processing
Salary:
- $17.00-$18.00 Starting
Starting rate is based on qualifications and experience provided.
