The Pre-Award Administrator will handle all functions of the department pre-award grants office. Duties include: budget development for applications; researching and interpreting sponsor guidelines; applying University policies; serving as a liaison between investigators, divisions, division administrators, UPP/UPMC, other University departments and University offices; developing grant, contract, and clinical trial proposals and budgets; prepare associated forms and related paperwork. This is an extremely fast-paced, team-oriented work environment. Must be able to prioritize and meet constant deadlines simultaneously. Excellent communications skills necessary. Experience with NIH and DOD grant submissions as well as knowledge of University policies and procedures is highly desirable.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education with substantial on-job experience. Knowledge of University policies and procedures preferred. Expertise in computerized systems for fiscal and database management along with web experience. Experience with budget techniques and accounting procedures. Knowledge of Federal and non-Federal regulations and operation policies of sponsored research including OMB Circulars A-110, A-122 and A-133, and NIH grants policy statement. Experience with Department Manager a plus. CRA a plus. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted per University guidelines.
