JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ebenezer Baptist Church is a traditional contemporary, welcoming and affirming congregation of 200 plus members, located in Alexandria, Virginia. ROLE:

We are seeking a full-time professional Director of Worship and Arts to work collaboratively with our Pastor and the members in our music ministry.

A Director of Worship and Arts helps develop and lead the worship music ministry for the church, in consultation with the senior pastor and other team members, in a way that is consistent with the mission, values, and theology of the church community.

The Director of Worship and Arts must also passionately believe that worship is the glorification of God, and he or she can create engaging environments that speak in the languages of traditional services and our contemporary services. SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The overall responsibility of this position is to oversee and incorporate music, drama, video, visual arts and other forms of artistic expression in the traditional and contemporary services.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serves as the Director of worship and Arts for the church.
• Develops worship plans under the direction of the Pastor’s vision and establishes both short-term and long-range goals for worship elements that will inspire growth in all worship services.
• Oversee implementation of all worship services, (i.e. Sunday worship, bible studies, revival, and funerals).
• Oversees the sound technician and visual equipment operator to capture musical elements of the church.
• Develop musical teams and ensembles for services.
• Maintain a strong prayer base for the music ministry.
• Communicate faithfully with the Senior Pastor and staff.
• Participate in the life and ministry of the church.

SPIRITUAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Member of a church or looking to become apart of the Ebenezer Baptist Church family.
• Loves Jesus Christ and continues to pursue a growing relationship with
• Fosters a spiritual community among the worship and arts team.
• Demonstrates love of Christ in personal life, testimony and lives out that faith in the community.

MUSICAL REQUIREMENTS (PREFERRED)

• Must be diverse in all genres of gospel and Christian music.
• Diverse in a wide range of styles including Contemporary Christian, Gospel and Hymns.
• Ability to read and hear music at an advanced level.
• Attested musical skills and competence.
• Ability to organize, coordinates, and motivate musicians and technical team members.
• Ability to lead worship and to train others as individual and team Worship Leaders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25,000.00 - $32,000.00 per year
