The Rental Fleet Maintenance & Repair works as a liaison between the Power Systems Rental Division and the Wagner Equipment Service Departments in a manner that reflects the company’s vision of working as “One Professional Team.”  This position is responsible for the efficient and profitable operations of the Rental Fleet Maintenance, Repair, and Equipment Management activities. This position will be responsible for the scheduling, costs, and availability of the Wagner Rental Power Systems Fleet territory wide to ensure we have products available that are rental ready, cleaned and prepped to support our business while working closely with branch service teams to coordinate and manage the timely completion of all service work.

Pay Rate:  $71,107.23 - $97,772.76 Annually
Pay rate is dependent upon education & experience. 

Essential Functions:

  • Creates a system that monitors all rental equipment that is not “ready to rent” and communicates with service to schedule and expedite units through various shops.
  • Develops and implements consistent policies and procedures for all Power Rental maintenance and repair options.
  • Monitors and engages service managers when charges by the various service branches are not appropriate.
  • Develops and manages annual rental maintenance and repairs budget.
  • Makes recommendations on repair, replace, or sell equipment by utilizing life and cost models.
  • Acts as a technical recourse to all branch service teams and rental customers.
  • Provides needed training to customer, service departments, on site or via teleconference and email as required.
  • Is capable of negotiating repairs on damaged Rental Fleet equipment caused by customers.
  • Provides diagnostic help to customers and technicians with down machines.
  • Schedules repairs and orders parts from outside vendors as needed.
  • Work with Technology Solutions to assure telemetric systems are working and used to remotely view fault codes, plan PM services, and to locate equipment.
  • Assure that new generators and air compressors added to the fleet have appropriate decals, modifications, telemetry, etc.
  • Work with OEMs and Service to resolve Warranty issues.
  • Coordinate weekly meetings with Rental Manager, Service Managers, Rental Reps discussing rental needs and down equipment.
  • Answer after hours phone to support customers with equipment problems.
  • Acts as expert on iRental inspections, call-off / receipt, service, PM tracking, and reporting assuring processes are optimized for iRental software.
  • Direct the activities of yard workers assuring yard is clean, equipment is organized into appropriate areas (received, down, ready, etc).
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • College Degree Preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in fleet management with heavy equipment
  • 3-5 years administrative/clerical experience
  • 5+ years customer service experience
  • 3-5 years sales experience

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • But sets priorities for yard workers and service shops.

Physical Demands & Competencies:

  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
  • Squatting/Kneeling
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, etc.
  • Medium work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 32 pounds or more
  • Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
  • Safety & Product Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of CRM/Sales Link
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate knowledge of DBS and ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW

Travel Requirements:

  • <25% to visit other branches to build relationships with service departments and train on power rental products.

Work Environment:

  • Noise: Moderate
  • Indoors and Outdoors
