CRC's Elk Hills Power Team is seeking to fill a Power Plant Operator (Power and Steam Generation) position in our Tupman, CA location. The starting base wage for this posted position is reasonably expected to range from $36 - $58 per hour, with a target annual bonus opportunity of 10% of wages paid. Your actual level and base salary, however, will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Responsibilities
Conduct daily rounds of plant equipment to ensure that all equipment is running within operational parameters
Conduct daily chemistry checks of broiler and cooling water systems
Work around high voltage electrical, high pressure steam, high pressure gas and hazardous materials
Check for leaks, spills or other containment breaches, and correct these situations as necessary
Promote, practice, and enforce plant safety procedures, and understand the correct use of personal and protective equipment
Must be able to communicate any abnormal plant conditions to the control room operator
Must have a good understanding of the CEMS and proper protocols for reporting
High School Diploma or GED with excellent mechanical and electrical repair skills
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with boiler and cooling tower water chemistry
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting gas turbine and steam turbine generators.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with multiple disciplines
Must be able to properly and safely wear all required PPE such as safety glasses, hard hat, steel toed shoes, supplied-air respirator, etc.
Must have the ability to pull water samples and analyze water samples
Must have the ability to walkdown all plant equipment and record readings
Must have the ability to perform minor maintenance on equipment
Must be able to make necessary adjustments to equipment as needed
Must have the ability to properly facilitate the LOTO system
Must be able to communicate any abnormal plant conditions to the control room operator
Must have a good understanding of the CEMS and proper protocols for reporting
Must have Valid Driver's License & clean DMV record
Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds and climb stairs and/or ladders.
