Job description

In this role the Power Plant Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for overhauls and repairs on all mechanical equipment, piping, valves, auxiliary machinery and buildings associated with the company's production equipment. The Power Plant Maintenance Manager will also be involved in the generation of steam and electricity through the performance of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, and required to perform these duties at multiple sites. This position is located in Golden, CO and will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.
What you'll do:

  • Ability to work safely with shop tools/equipment
  • Familiarity with MSDS sheets and ability to use them
  • Ability to rig safely.
  • Ability to climb ladders to heights of 30 feet and to tolerate heights up to 100 feet
  • Ability to operate hand tools associated with the trade
  • Basic welding, cutting, brazing and pipe fitting ability
  • May be required to direct others, such as contract personnel, toward safe completion of tasks
  • Strong working knowledge of the plant operations and equipment
  • Ability to analyze complex machine problems in a systematic manner
  • Ability to dead weight lift and to maneuver with 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must work mandatory overtime and any shift when required.
  • Maintain clean and safe working conditions throughout the plant
  • Must have a high level of manual dexterity and visual acuity (corrected).
  • Identify, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions
  • Follow waste handling procedures
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of equipment instruction manuals and engineering design specifications/standards and parts procurement procedures.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with department and company policies, procedures and quality control standards
  • Perform accurate record keeping where required
  • Demonstrate ability to operate forklift and other company vehicles safely
  • Demonstrate ability to do basic mechanical drawing
  • Demonstrate ability to read blueprints and maintenance/engineering manuals
  • Cross train with Operations
  • Work in a drug free environment, subject to random drug testing

What you bring:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Four (4) years industrial maintenance experience or completion of a mechanical trade school and one (1) year experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Qualified craft journeyman preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of all plant systems and understanding of process diagrams, simple electrical diagrams
  • Welding experience preferred
  • Must be able to complete the applicable General Physics - Power Fundamental Online self-study training courses
  • Excel and word proficiency
  • Knowledge of all hand tools related to job duties including forklift and company vehicles, pallet jacks, ladders, scissor lift, overhead crane, chain hoist, slings, come-alongs, choker, and tiedowns, tube-bender, mill, drill press, all hand tools of the trade, vice, pipe threader, welders/cutting torch, cut-off saw, hydraulic press, sand blaster, grinder, sander

  • Ability to hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communication

  • Salary Range: $42,168.50 - $103,389 USD annually
  • Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
  • In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
