Job Summary
Arch is seeking a highly skilled hands on Data Analytics and Visualization Manager (Power BI Expert) who will work closely with our Enterprise Data team to maintain, develop, and modernize our Analytics platform. The ideal candidate will understand business and technical requirements, translating these into data integration designs and deliverables by working with the Enterprise Data Team and Architect. The position requires experience in creating data-rich dashboards, creation of complex models which support visualizations and Analyze in Excel, writing DAX expressions, and implementing row-level security. Knowledge of scripting languages such as R and Python a plus. Ability to convert data into stories that help establish data-driven decision making across the organization. Familiarity with the P&C Insurance domain with strong background in financial analytics.
*This is a hybrid (twice a week) role in Raleigh, NC, Hartford, CT, or Jersey City, NJ.
Essential RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Architect, Design, develop, update and optimize Power BI dashboards, reports and scorecards to meet business requirements.
  • Utilize effectively the navigation features in Power BI to guide users through a compelling data-driven story.
  • Design, publish and maintain Power BI data models with multiple interrelated tables which support both the visualization and analyze in Excel features Document solutions and work with analysts to flesh out details of user stories.
  • Develop calculations in DAX Able to work with analysts and product managers to discuss with internal customers and stakeholders to formulate requirements for their analytical problems Integrate existing data sources with Power BI - including but not limited to Snowflake, Azure, SQL Server.
  • Efficiently handle large sets of data and confidently process them into required formats Implement row-level security on data along with an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI
  • Responsible for design methodology and product documentation. Should be able to develop tabular and multidimensional models compatible with data warehouse standards.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Knowledge & Skills
  • Expert level experience with BI tools and systems such as Power BI and Snowsight
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft BI stack Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong SQL, DAX ability required, scripting languages such as R, Python a plus Experience with Cloud platform, especially Azure Experience with Big Data platforms, especially Snowflake
  • Competent in developing engaging and effective data visualizations In-depth understanding of how the Power BI Service works
  • Understanding of the full suite of Power BI products work is essential (Report Builder, Reporting Services, etc)
  • Knowledge of Cognos, SSAS is good to have Communicating with stakeholders of all levels including executives, including ability to advise and support
  • Track record of working in Agile environment Self-starter, ability to work independently Experience in working in all stages of the SDLC
  • Experience in the P&C Insurance domain preferred, else Financial Services industry
  • Experience with custom visuals, dynamic reporting, best practices data modeling, row-level security, Analyze in Excel Experience with Power BI Admin functions

Education & Experience
  • Required knowledge & skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in software development & architecture design is required.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$145,000 - $195,000/year
  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future
