01/07/2024We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our LPS Family!
This professional will be skilled and experienced in delivering specialized instruction in math, reading and writing as well as other academic content areas. Instructional models include co-teaching, individual and/or small group instruction and implementing strategies to students receiving Special Education support within the general education classroom.
In addition to these instructional responsibilities, this professional will be a strong case manager with the ability to carefully monitor student growth, write and implement effective IEPs, appropriately evaluate student needs and collaborate with general educators. Supervision of paraprofessionals is also required. Duties may include personal care, feeding, safety and supervision.
Salary is determined by placement on Licensed Salary Schedule according to education and experience.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Hold or be eligible to hold a Colorado Teaching License.
• Hold appropriate endorsement(s).

EXPERIENCE:

• Successful completion of student teaching assignment.
• Previous teaching experience in subject area and/or level desirable
• Experience working with students with significant support needs is preferred
• Bi-lingual skills preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT:

• Human relations skills
• Knowledgeable about classroom practice in order to successfully facilitate the learning environment, manage time, communications, and record keeping
• Ability to remain current in curricular area and in instructional practices
• Knowledgeable about student electronic database and grading software
• Knowledgeable about using technology to support instruction and enhance student learning
