Our Specialty Product Division is seeking a dedicated Powder Torch Operator to join our team. Position Overview:
As a Powder Torch Operator, you will play a vital role in the production process, ensuring the safe and efficient removal of casting gates and risers from stainless steel and alloy castings. This position requires expertise in using scarfing powder, heavy-duty hand cutting torches, and an overhead crane.

Position Overview:
As a Powder Torch Operator, you will play a vital role in the production process, ensuring the safe and efficient removal of casting gates and risers from stainless steel and alloy castings. This position requires expertise in using scarfing powder, heavy-duty hand cutting torches, and an overhead crane.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize scarfing powder and the burning process to remove casting gates and risers.
- Rough cut casting with a focus on safety as the top priority.
- Remove metal, such as pads, riser stubs, bosses, fins, etc., using special cutting agents and heavy-duty hand cutting torches.
- Shape castings within correct dimensional tolerances.
- Operate overhead crane for the movement of castings and equipment.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Report safety or quality issues to the supervisor.
- Identify and communicate maintenance needs.
- Recommend and actively participate in process improvements.
- Contribute to special activities, projects, and programs to support Bradken's safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in casting removal using scarfing powder and burning processes.
- Knowledge of heavy-duty hand cutting torches and overhead crane operation.
- Ability to work within dimensional tolerances.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass a background check, physical and drug screening.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
