Poultry Category Manger

We are a leading company in the Wildlife and Birdfood space that specializes in the creation and distribution of high-quality Wildlife products specifically in the Wildbird and Poultry categories. As we continue to expand our market presence, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Category Manager with a background in brand management. The Poultry Category Manager will play a pivotal role setting up our brand and market strategies.

The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in brand strategy, product development, and marketing. As the Poultry Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive growth within the Poultry Category, oversee product portfolio management, and enhance brand positioning to maximize market share and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute category strategies to drive sales and profitability within the poultry segment, including product assortment, pricing, and promotional initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, analyze brand positioning, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape within the poultry industry.
  • Shape and communicate our brand vision and mission.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, sales, operations, and supply chain, to develop and launch poultry products and expand market share that meet consumer needs and align with brand objectives.
  • Lead product lifecycle management, from ideation and concept development to commercialization, ensuring product innovation and differentiation.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitive activities to identify opportunities and recommend strategic actions to drive growth.
  • Develop integrated marketing campaigns, including advertising, promotions, and digital initiatives, to support brand awareness and drive sales.
  • Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns, and assess ROI and KPIs
  • Translate brand elements into plans and go-to-market strategies.
  • Lead creative development to engage target audience.
  • Collaborate with retail partners and merchandisers to develop joint business plans, optimize merchandising strategies, and execute promotional programs to drive category growth.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field or related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in brand management, or product marketing within the food industry (a focus on poultry products preferred).
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful brand and marketing strategies that drive sales and market share growth.
  • Strong analytical skills partnered with a creative mind with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven mindset and affinity for numbers.
  • Experience in identifying target audience and devising effective campaigns.
  • Up-to-date with latest trends and marketing best practices.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of poultry industry trends, regulations, and consumer preferences is preferred.
