Assist with research design and implementation by performing molecular/cellular studies for axonal RNA transport & translation and cell signaling; Develop pipeline for high throughput analysis for protein aggregation and axon growth using cell lines and primary neuron models ; Perform molecular/cellular studies for peripheral nerve and spinal cord injuries using in vivo and in vitro models involving skilled surgical procedures on mice and rats with a dissecting microscope under sterile conditions for peripheral nerve injury, micro-injection of sensory ganglia and spinal cord, and central nerve injury in mice and rats; Prepare progress reports, contribute to scholarly works for presentation and publication; Present data and research progress at group meetings and other venues that encourage collaboration
Required Education and ExperiencePh.D. degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neurobiology, Biology or closely related field and the ability to contribute immediately to a nationally recognized research program in neurotherapeutics.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesInterested candidates should have a Ph.D. in Molecular/Cell Biology or other related disciplines. Must have knowledge of hazards of laboratory activities and related safety practices, skill in setting up, care and use of laboratory equipment, and ability to develop and assist with development of new and improved methodology.
